PIF handed over the Grand Park Hotel to Dr. Laila Ghanna, Governore of Rmallah and Al Bireh, Dr. Wael l Sheikh, Director of Health District office in the Governorate for use as standby preventive quarantine facilities for COVID-19 cases.

Dr. Ghannam stated that “PIF’s initiative contributes largely to the ongoing efforts exerted by relevant institutions and agencies to curb the spread of the pandemic in Palestine.” Dr. Ghannam clarified that this was a preventive and readiness measure that will be activated should any emergency arise or the need for medical attention as determined by competent parties led by the Ministry of Health.

Dr. Ghannam added ‘we highly appreciate this initiative of the Palestinian Investment Fund represented by Dr. Mohammad Mustafa, the chairman of the Board of Directors, and PIF staff. This initiative highlights, yet again, that the Palestinian national establishment with all its institutions and agencies is placing all the assets of the Palestinian people in the service of fighting this pandemic.’

The Governor of Ramallah and Al Bireh expressed her appreciation for everyone from the private and public sectors and the civil society institutions, stressing that the crisis has brought up the best within Palestinian people in terms of solidarity, collaboration, fraternity, and awareness. She pointed to the campaign ‘The good within our people is always there’ that was launched by the Governorate and is now growing like a- snowball, yet another proof of the good and ethical values of our people and private sector.

Dr. Ghannam stressed that all the undertaken measures are preventive in nature, calling upon Palestinians to comply with public health and safety instructions and measures announced by the competent parties.
